Classical Concerts in Prague
Welcome to the Prague Classic. We offer exclusive concerts of classical music and jazz music to both residents and visitors of Prague. They take place in the unique historical premises of the Klementinum – the Church of the Most Holy Saviour near the Charles Bridge in the centre of Prague, which is part of the Royal Route. We organize regular organ concerts, with the newly renovated unique Baroque organ, as well as other musical events.
Our professional team will ensure any artistic performances, or a musical programme, for your exceptional events. For example social events, conventions, corporate events, exhibitions, weddings, DJ parties, programs for schools (educational concerts), or even banquets if the client wishes so. For travel agencies we arrange concerts outside the usual dates, including a tour of the Church of the Holy Saviour and the Baroque organ with a knowledgeable guide.
We cooperate with Czech and foreign professional ensembles and soloists, symphony and chamber orchestras and conductors in the field of classical music, but also other genres (jazz, folk music, pop, country).
We believe that our concerts and events will satisfy even the most demanding audience.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts in the very heart of Prague.
With the spring taste in the air we start on 3rd March new season of our regular concerts at the Church of St. Salvator by the Charles Bridge.
The same as every year we would like to invite you also this season into our traditional Advent and Christmas organ concerts. The start is on the first Advent Sunday. During this Christmas time you can listen to the most popular Christmas compositions produced by well-known composers (J.S.Bach, A. Michna, W.A.Mozart, G.F. Händel). Also you can hear more or less known Chrismas Carrols from around the world. We have prepared two types of concerts. At the first one you can hear famous organ music performed on the unique baroque organ in the Church of St. Saviour. The interpreter is organist Robert Hugo, soloists are Marie Fajtová – soprano and Viktor Mazáček – violin. The second option is interesting connection of Chamber Ensemble Capella Regina Praga from members of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and organ compositions interpreted by Robert Huga. Enjoy positive Christmas atmosphere in the Church of St. Saviour.
PragueClassic is organising celebratory concerts of Mozart’s Requiem – An Evening with Mozart – in honour of the famous composer on Saturdays 15 and 22 October.
The Requiem is Mozart’s last piece of work. It was commissioned by an anonymous customer. Mozart died suddenly in the middle of the work, however, and the requiem remained unfinished. Mozart’s student F. X. Süssmayr completed the piece after his teacher’s death. The composition also became globally renowned thanks to the Academy Award-winning film Amadeus directed by Miloš Forman, one of our most prominent film directors.
Robert Hugo, a renowned artist and the first chair organist of St Salvator Church will play the organ. Leading opera soloists will perform with the accompaniment of a mixed choir. The orchestra duties will be taken up by Capella Regia Praha, a top-notch orchestra that became one of the most sought-after ensembles performing ancient music soon after its formation in 1992.
